April 2024 - Release 3: Custom Entities

Introducing Custom Entities: Tailored Data Models Unleashed!

We're thrilled to unveil our third release of 2024, packed with an exciting new feature that will revolutionize the way you manage your data: Custom Entities.

Limitless Customization at Your Fingertips

While Core dna comes pre-configured with commonly used entities like pages, blog posts, and products, we understand that every business has unique needs. That's why we've introduced Custom Entities, allowing you to create your own data models from scratch, tailored to your specific requirements.

Powerful Features for Streamlined Operations

Custom Entities come loaded with a wealth of powerful features and configuration options:

  • Relationships Redefined: Define intricate relationships between entities on a granular level. Specify single or multiple entity types, set minimum and maximum record limits, and validate data seamlessly.
  • Hierarchical Structures: Improve your editing experience with hierarchical data models. Create parent and child entities, allowing you to view and create child records directly from the parent view.
  • Flexible Layout Areas: Just like pre-defined entities, Custom Entities support the definition of layout areas with a wide range of input types, including complex structures with components and collections.
  • Versioning and Permissions: Enjoy built-in content versioning and granular permission controls for Custom Entities and individual records.
  • Optional Enhancements: Enable additional features like site-specific entities, publishing capabilities, manual positioning, URL accessibility, SEO settings, categories, tags, and admin menu elements.

Other Improvements

But that's not all! This release also includes several other enhancements and bug fixes:

  • Improved organization of admin menu elements, layouts, custom fields, input types, and Custom Entities under the Customization tab.
  • Better handling of empty content when patching layout areas from the API.
  • Early validation of file and folder name uniqueness.
  • Fixed issues with searching global components when tags and categories are enabled.
  • Resolved login issues caused by excessively long user agents.
  • Fixed a bug preventing user deletion in certain cases.

Get ready to unleash your creativity and take your data management to new heights with Core DNA's Custom Entities. Dive in and start crafting your perfect data models today!
