Replace Text
The content replacement utility can be used to replace any text in any content on the entire site. Content will be replaced in all layout areas and custom fields, but not in other fields closely related to the respective models (like blog post titles) or that don't have a text value.
For example, when you specify Apraham Linkolm in the search and Abraham Lincoln in the replace field, all occurrences of Apraham Linkolm will be replaced with Abraham Lincoln.
Replacement does not support placeholders and only replaces exact matches (case sensitive). At least 3 characters are required for both search and replacement, and search and replace cannot be the same. The modification dates of records will NOT be modified.
Replacement terms import
Upload a CSV file with search and replacement terms here. The CSV file must:
Contain the search term in the first column
Contain the replacement term in the second column
Be comma separated
Use double quotes for string encapsulation
Not use a header; all rows are used
Be encoded using UTF8
After the upload has been completed, the parsed contents of the file is displayed here. You can make changes to the terms to be included in the operation; the original file will not be used for the actual replacement.
Replacement terms
Use the replacement terms list to add individual replacement rules. Click on the (+) icon to add replacement rules:
That will expand the admin where “search term” & “replacement” value can be added:
Once the replacement record has been configured check the “I am aware of the risks of this operation, but want to proceed nevertheless” and click the “Start replacement” button to complete the action. Content on the website that matches the “search term” value will then be replaced with the “replacement” value across the website.
